CareContinuum Partners with United Resource Network for Organ
Transplants
Organ and
tissue transplants are among the most treatment-intensive and
costly procedures experienced by both patients and payers. Each
year the number and cost of organ and tissue transplant cases
increases as new, more expensive transplantation technologies
emerge.
Determining the
appropriateness of transplant cases, selecting appropriate
facilities for a specific transplant procedure, managing costs,
fostering successful outcomes, and reviewing treatment
proficiencies are time-intensive processes that demand specific
clinical expertise.
These reasons are why CareContinuum has partnered with United
Resource Network to offer a continuum of products and services
designed to help clients manage their transplant benefit. From
physician review services to the nation's leading network of
elite transplant programs , together we can offer clients the
opportunity for improved outcomes and significant cost savings
associated with transplantation. (35-40% savings per transplant
episode as compared with industry standard transplantation
costs)
United Resource Networks provides Network access to more than 43
million individuals and manages approximately 4,000 transplant
cases each year. The United Resource Transplant Network,
developed and maintained through a unique process of
credentialing, contracting, and consulting, is currently
comprised of 128 participating transplant programs within 21
medical centers throughout the United States. The Pediatric
Transplant Network, a subset of The Network, consists of 39
participating transplant programs within 21 medical centers
throughout the United States.
United Resource
Networks also offers United TransReview, a transplant
appropriateness review product. United TransReview assists
organizations in the complex decision-making process surrounding
transplantation by providing expert opinion services that focus
on an individual patient's clinical situation.
